Autumn Grazing Platter with Fruit Chocolate and Charcuterie

This autumn I’m sharing my DIY grazing platter with fruit chocolate and charcuterie! Make it for less than $50!

I love to put together a good charcuterie board to celebrate holidays and to ring in each new season throughout the year. They can also serve as an elevated party food for a girl’s get together, a date night meal or even just a snack when you’re feeling extra classy. If you’ve got the charcuterie board bug, I have several other grazing platters you can check out as well to help you get inspired, including a spring grazing board and one that’s Christmas themed.

If you have young kids, you can also include them when making your grazing platter (if it’s for them, too). I like to get my son involved in the kitchen as often as I can. Children can learn important skills just by helping you out, following directions, figuring out measurements and so forth. Since I’ve had a lot of experience with it, I’ve been able to find the best kitchen essentials for cooking with toddlers that are tried and true. Check out these favorites and be sure to browse my mega list of kitchen essentials for adults, too!

Okay, let’s get to it!

Once you have your tools together and your ingredients selected, all that’s left is to assemble the platter. There is no exact way to put together this grazing plate, but I always like to follow a few “rules” to make sure my platter looks full, balanced and inviting.

  1. Use larger items to help contain smaller ones or items that might move around.

  2. Avoid putting too many of the same colors right next to each other.

  3. Vary the height of items to give your platter dimension.

  4. Use items with different textures and shapes to provide interest.

  5. Save garnishes like leaves and small nuts for last to fill in any gaps.

This particular board looks extra fancy with the beautiful salami roses scattered throughout. Here’s a tutorial for how to make easy salami roses in a snap so you can add these to your grazing plate, too.
