I remember my mother reading to me every night as a child, and it’s one of the things I looked forward to most every evening. It’s no surprise Little David loves reading time just as much as I did, and that’s probably because I started reading to him when he was just an infant. It’s always been my goal to build up a collection of African American baby books for him. I know how important it is for him to read books that have characters that look like him, and David and I both make efforts to make sure we give him just that.
If you’re a mom to a little black boy, I hope this list of African American baby books for little boys gives you some great ideas for books to begin building your collection. I’m just so happy that we’re able to find many great stories in books for African american boys.
