3 Ways I'm Cherishing Moments and Milestones with My Son

Though it may be cliche’, it’s absolutely true that when you have a little one, time flies by quickly. I’ll never forget one thing that an older lady Once told me. She said, “The days are long, but the years are short!”. I think she was definitely right. In just a couple of months my son will hit the 1 year mark. I’m so glad that even through the sleep deprivation and fatigue that comes with being a mother, I’ve been intentional and conscientious to make sure I always take the time to soak up everything that comes with the territory. I want to share with you 3 easy ways I’ve made sure to cherish moments and milestones with my son.
(1) Live in the Moment
When I initially had my son, I went through a challenging period of just trying to adjust to the time that goes into caring for a baby. There would be times when I would get frustrated because I had to tend to him and also had to get chores around the house done. I’ve learned to just take a deep breath relax, and enjoy the gorgeous smile on the face of this little human that my husband and I have been blessed to call our son. Chores can get done at any time. I know every moment with my son counts, so I make intentional efforts to enjoy every drool filled kiss I can get!
(2) Take Plenty of Pictures and Video
Babies change so much in the blink of an eye. I have so many pictures of my son from the time he was a newborn, all the way up until now, at 9 months old. I took pictures of him as he aged each month just because I thought it was fun. Prior to my having a baby, I remembered seeing other women dress up or swaddle their cuties and create pictures that documented how old they had reached. I just wanted to do the same. Now, in hindsight, it’s the best thing I could have done. I’m able to look back on his pictures from when he was born and each month thereafter. He’s changed so much, so fast. He doesn’t look like the same baby we brought home, but he definitely still has the same fiery personality!
(3) Capture and Record Important Milestones
Time has gone by so fast, and since about 6 months old, little David has been on the move. He quickly learned to roll over, then started scooting, and crawling. Now he’s cruising and well on his way to walking! All of a sudden a few weeks ago, I looked down and noticed my baby had teeth. Yep, that’s right! Teeth! He’s got two little baby teeth that are starting to cut through on his bottom gums. When I saw it, I shed a small tear 😢. The little newborn baby I brought home last spring is about to be a toddler. I knew I needed to record everything that has happened over the last several months and wanted to document everything that he has accomplished - no matter how big or small.
The nestnotes My First Year Poster allows me to hold on to memories in an elevated and unique way. It is an archivable, quality, frameable baby book that can be personalized with your baby’s name and date of birth. Even more, there are over 40 customizable fields that you can fill out as your baby grows including their height, weight, the foods they eat, and when they start cutting teeth 😊. I love this poster because it is made of handcrafted, heavyweight paper and can be framed. I know it’s durable and will stay in tact over the years, so I’ll always have something to remind me of the little baby boy I brought home that eventually grew up!
Comment and let me know how you’re saving memories of your baby as he/she grows up!
XOXO,
